Abdulateef Hussein is a Director of BAS Finance. He has nine years of experience in investment banking and financial advisory, having structured finance and Sukuk transactions exceeding ₦50 billion. Mr. Hussein began his career at Solina Group in 2016 as a Project Analyst and later served as the COO of Egwafin Microfinance Bank in 2021. He co-founded BAS Capital in 2020. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Economics (First Class) from Eastern Mediterranean University and is an MBA candidate at Lagos Business School. He is a multi-certified professional holding ACIB, ACS, MCIB, and IoD designations.

Managing Director/CEO

Adnan Kayode Ismail is the Managing Director/CEO of BAS Finance, ERM at BAS Capital. He has eight years of experience in enterprise risk management and credit control, notably improving portfolio quality by 2,812% at Ultraviolet MFB. Mr. Ismail began his career at Mutual Trust Microfinance Bank in 2017 as a Risk Analyst and rose to Credit Risk and Control Executive at Rosabon Financial Services in 2020. He joined BAS Capital in 2023. He holds a B.Tech from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, and is an MBA candidate at Lagos Business School. He is a Chartered Risk Manager (CRMI) and holds ACIB and MCIB certifications.

Executive Director/COO

Victor O. Kareem is the Executive Director/ COO of BAS Finance. He has seven years of experience in operations, portfolio management, and venture capital, previously serving as the youngest Executive Director of the Lagos Angel Network. Mr. Kareem began his career as a mechanical engineer before transitioning into finance, where he co-founded the blockchain startup Ezrah Inc. in 2021. He joined the BAS leadership team in 2023. He holds a B.Eng (First Class) from the University of Ibadan and is a Certified Portfolio Management expert.

Daniel Apaokueze

Independent Non-Executive Director

Daniel Apaokueze is a Non- Executive Director of BAS Finance. He has seven years of experience in sovereign debt risk management and macroeconomic modeling, having previously managed risk for ₦6.5 trillion in debt at the Central Bank of Nigeria. Mr. Apaokueze began his career at Mainland Microfinance Bank in 2019 as a Credit Analyst before joining PwC as an Associate in 2021. He joined the BAS leadership team in 2024. He holds dual Master’s degrees from the University of Exeter and the University of Warwick. He is a Certified FMVA, a CIBN Microfinance Banker, and has passed Level I of the CFA Program.

Chibuike Osita is a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer with over 9 years of experience building scalable, high-performance systems across startups and global tech companies. He has worked with organizations such as Chess.com, Turing, Sendchamp, and Hotels.ng, where he led critical engineering efforts—from improving system performance by up to 7x, to building microservice architectures capable of handling 100,000+ requests per batch. He has deep expertise in backend systems, distributed architecture, and modern frontend frameworks, with hands-on experience in CI/CD, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure. Chibuike also built Coincord, a crypto payments platform with live users and transaction volume, demonstrating his ability to take products from concept to production. His work is driven by a strong focus on performance, scalability, and system reliability, with a growing interest in decentralized technologies and infrastructure.

Shittu Adenike Olufunke is the Executive Director, Finance. She has over ten years of experience in financial management, auditing, and IFRS reporting, successfully minimizing exchange rate losses by 90% in previous leadership roles. Mrs. Shittu began her career as a Finance Manager at Durante Fish and Industry in 2016 and later served as a Senior Audit Partner at Michael Nwachukwu & Co. in 2020. She joined BAS Capital in 2022. She is a Chartered Accountant (ACA) and holds 2025 memberships in the CIS and ACIB.

Non-Executive Director

Terfa Jude Udendeh is the Non-Executive Director. He has eight years of experience in accounting, treasury, and portfolio management, growing assets under management to over ₦600 million. Mr. Udendeh began his career at Praisemight Associates in 2020 as an Internal Control Officer and later served as an Accountant at Golden Ox Partners in late 2020. He joined BAS Capital in 2022. He holds a B.Sc. in Accounting from Redeemer’s University and is a multi-certified professional holding ACA, MCP, and CIS designations.
